Therapeutic Approach

During therapy, I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), one of the most effective and widely researched psychotherapy treatments for anxiety, depression and other common mental health problems. It helps you understand the negative thought patterns, emotions and behaviours that may be keeping you stuck, and how you can change these to improve the way you feel.

CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach that can help you make sense of your problems by breaking them down into smaller parts, so it’s easier to notice the effect that some of your thoughts have on what you do. Together, we work to understand patterns maintaining your problems and develop practical strategies for creating meaningful and lasting change.

Practical skills learnt through CBT can help you deal with overwhelming problems in a more positive way, helping you cope better long after your therapy has ended.

If you’re considering therapy, you are welcome to get in touch or book an initial session to see whether this feels right for you.
